The weekend before leaving for my Japan trip, Presley and her Mom came to visit me at the studio for her cake smash session. AND THE RESULTS WERE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I mean, look at this little cutie pie, how can it be otherwise?
When we first talked, Presley’s Mom was very specific that she wanted it to be all PINK and gold. She sent me inspirations for her daughter’s first birthday smash cake photos and they were all indeed very pink, glittery and glamorous. They looked MAGICAL!!!!! And to be honest, I was very intimidated at first. You see, to me, Presley’s Mom is really pretty and I feel that she has really good taste and so I was really nervous that I won’t be able to deliver to her expectations. I was really scared that I would disappoint her.
So I studied and dissect the 2 images that her Mom sent me and my crafty mind got to work. And in the end, this was the set that I put together for Presley’s first birthday photoshoot. AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, the only things that I bought were the balloons and the pink vintage tassel. For everything else, they were already at the studio or at my house. I even brought in a little heater to keep her warm.
Insert this cutie patootie and VOILA!!!!!!
Our inspiration has come to life!!!!Presley was soooooo good that day. She didn’t cry or fuss at all during the whole set. She just refused to smile. Kids always do that when they are in front of the camera for some reason. So while I concentrated on her reactions, her Mom stood in the back of me clapping her hands, making baby noises and singing to her to try to get her attention. It was a lot of work. And it was hilarious! and cute! and adorable! Look at those tiny little fingers versus the huge pearls dangling around her neck. It’s hard to believe but one day soon, her hands are going to grow long enough to be the size of her arm right now. And those baby cheeks will be gone.
But until then, let’s ooooh and aaaaaw over how cutie this little bunny is.
Happy birthday, adorable Presley! I wish you lots of laughter and happiness as well as really good grades in all of the years to come so you can make your Mommy and Daddy proud!
P.S. I am obsessed with cake smash sessions now. This photoshoot really inspired me so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more crafty shoots like this in the future.
