I can’t get over how cute this engagement session with Reina and Jesus turned out.
Reina and Jesus are my October bride and groom. In 2014, I photographed Reina’s niece for her 6-month and 1st birthday. Last year, Reina’s sister and brother-in-law, Angelica and Marco, hired me to document their wedding at the beautiful Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and The Takopoulos Library Galleria n Downtown Sacramento.
This year, I am so honored that I get to document their love story at Sutter’s Fort in Midtown Sacramento.
And theirs is quite extraordinary.
Fun, sassy and beautiful. That’s probably the impression that you get from their pictures above. Together, they are just so fun and cute. What you may not know is that together, Reina and Jesus have 6 children. YES! A blended HAPPY family of 8.
Since their children are really important to them, we worked around their schedules to make sure that all of them can be there for the engagement session.
As always, we started with some formal poses first. After that, it’s all fun and games to make sure that the kids were having a good time too.
These two, can they be any more adorable?!?!?!
(They loved the camera.)
(This is probably my favorite shot yet!)
(Oh my gosh! Look how he is swinging between his brother’s arms?)
The kids are so cute. They saw the bridge and got super excited.
“Can you take a picture of us on the bridge? Yes? Yes?”
Look at that boo-boo sleeping but has her tougue sticking out still…. #toocute
Sneaking in a few shots of the parents while the kids entertained themselves.
To get some natural smiles out of them, I asked Jesus and Reina to sit back-to-back and push each other. “PUSH HARDER! HARDER!!!” I yelled.
THEN THIS HAPPENED!!!!! (bahahahaha…)
We were all dying from laughter.
Upon seeing this, their daughters asked if they can do the same thing with their Daddy too.
There was a shed nearby and I thought of another fun thing that we can do.
“Let’s be weirdos and sneak up on them.”
The girls were all for it.
Talk about fun childhood memories. Can you imagine 20 years from now when they are all grown, what it would be like to look back at photos like these?
Not only to remember what a great time it was but to see your parents so young and in love and they got to be a part of that special period of their lives?
This little love bug is turning one soon so we took some photos just of her.
Look at those teeth coming out. AND THAT SMILE as her sisters and brothers stood in the back of me cheering her on.
Across the street from Sutter’s Fort is St. Francis’ Church. They looked into getting married there but since it wasn’t available, we went to take photos there instead.
When planning for their engagement photos, Reina told me that she would love to take photos at a mission. She loves the stones and the color for they remind her of her roots: Mexico. Since there is no ruins or missions in Sacramento, I suggested St. Francis’. The church reminds me of Barcelona where the walls are made of neutral, cream-colored cement, the streets are lined with cobblestones, the roofs are orange and the walls are filled with climbing vines.
Are you dying over cuteness overload, yet?
Aren’t they the cutest couple ever?
Thank you so much for tuning in today. I’m trying really hard to blog consistently. I have so many sessions to show off so I am going to try to have a new blog up every Tuesday and Friday from now on. If you are on Instagram, you can follow me for the latest work as I am the most active on there. Thanks again,
