What an honor it was that Henry and I got to capture James and Sara’s summer wedding last month at the Capital Rose Garden and the reception at the Sterling Hotel. They got married on a Sunday. Though a little hot, it was the most glorious day. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping. Thousands of roses competed for attention as James and Sara’s family and friends gathered in front of the water fountain to celebrate Sara and James’ union as man & wife at the World Peace Rose Garden in Downtown Sacramento.
Here’s the highlight of their joyous wedding day:
The day started with the bride and groom getting ready at the Sterling Hotel:
(The collages are pages from their wedding album. I’m in the process of designing it right now since the bride has chosen her favorites. Their wedding photos was delivered the day after their 1-month wedding anniversary. James and Sara are actually in the Dominican Republic right now on their honeymoon.)
Like all of our weddings, while I covered the girls, Henry (my husband and second shooter) photographed the guys.
James’ Mom was all smiles as she marched down the aisle proudly.
(Henry and I felt like we were the paparazzi. We captured the first kiss from so many angles as this was the first ceremony where we were allowed to stand anywhere and everywhere).
Here’s James and Sara with Reverend Rick Tan right after their wedding ceremony:While everyone was still there, we took a big, happy picture of everyone before moving forward to pictures with family and friends.
After pictures with the bridal party, I took James and Sara back to the rose garden to take some pretty wedding photos. Do you believe me now that thousands of roses were competing for their attention that day? The lighting was perfect too. And Sara, she was breathtakingly beautiful!!!
Before heading into the reception hall, we stopped in front of the Sterling Hotel entrance to take photos as well. This was my first time photographing a wedding there. I am happy to say that I will be back in October for another wedding. I’m really excited because the venue is really pretty and the food was really good!
Sara printed two of the engagement photos that we took in San Francisco and used them for guests to sign in. At each table there was a small frame with more pictures from the engagement session as well. I felt so proud when I saw a different picture at each table.
The guys and their Cuban cigars after dinner:
After dinner come the toasts:
Here’s the Best Man’s Speech from James & Sara’s Wedding at the Sterling Hotel- Part 1 & 2
Here’s a sweet toast from her cousin:
This is the “Thank You” speech from Sara’s Dad:
Next is the Father & Daughter Dance as well as the Mother & Son Dance:
There was so much dancing at their wedding. Everyone was on the dancing floor at one point or another:
Ahhh, what sweet memories. James and Sara’s wedding was seriously one of the the sweetest and most fun weddings we photographed. Everyone was so happy and excited to be there. The toasts were so touching and Sara, she looked AMAZING!!! Congratulations you guys. Thank you so much for having me and Henry there to capture this joyous day for you. We are so humbled and honored!
