Less than 2 weeks ago, I had the honor of working with the Pogemiller to capture their daughter’s quinceanera ceremony. Though I’ve done lots of weddings, this is my first time photographing a quinceanera. From the consultation to the planning to the day before the event, Sara’s Mom and I have been communicating so I was prepared. My husband, Henry, who is my 2nd shooter at weddings, even came along to help out since they are like family to us.
The church ceremony was scheduled to start at 2PM so at 12PM, we arrived at Sara’s house to catch the girls getting ready.
Once they are done, we went to the front yard to get some gorgeous family photos the court piled into the limosine to head to the church.
We arrived at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and it was glorious! The sun was shining. The church has lots of windows so we had lots of natural light for the ceremony. It was a beautiful day for a quinceanera celebration.
Monica, Sara’s Mom, is so proud of these personalized M&M’s that she got. Some even have Sara’s picture printed on them. I mean, how cool is that! So of course I had to make sure I show them off to you. I absolutely adore all the customized items they had at the candy table.
The AZTEC DANCERS with their Blessings:
After the cake cutting, Sara’s Dad, Steve, performed the quince tradition where the Father switched out his daughter’s tennis shoes and replaced them with dancing shoes. This signifies Sara’s transition from being a child to now being a young lady.
At the end of the father & daughter dance, her Grandpa came up to ask for her hand, followed by Sara’s Godfather and Uncles:
I absolutely adore how happy Luis, her younger brother, looked while dancing with his sister at her quinceanera celebration. The best combination though, goes out to Sara and her sister, Eliza. They are so in sync with each other’s move. The swung all over the dance floor with so much smiles and laughters.
Sara and her parents thanked everyone for coming to join the celebration.
Monica, Steve & Sara, thank you so much for allowing Henry and I the opportunity to share & capture something so amazing for your family. I hope you love the photos. I know you will treasure these for a really long time and I am so grateful you trusted me to help you document this milestone.
